Hickory Golf Celebration Day - A Memorial to Lillie Petit Gallagher

Step onto the green in timeless style. For our Hickory Golf Celebration Day, we invite you to channel the elegance and charm of the 1930s — a golden era when golf was as much about fashion as finesse. Whether you're sporting plus-fours and argyle or pleated skirts and cloche hats, this guide will help you dress the part with vintage flair. Let’s honor tradition, celebrate diversity, and swing into history together.

This event is dedicated to the memory of Lillie Petit Gallagher, who spent more than 25 years fighting to preserve, improve, and promote Historic City Park Golf Course, the first golf course in the United States to be selected for the National Register of Historic Places.

Lillie fought a good fight to keep Historic City Park Golf Course intact as the very first municipal golf course in Louisiana, open to everyone to enjoy the game of golf and create memories of great life moments.
